Steve’s workshops are valuable beyond the price of attending. He is a very good instructor with vast knowledge of both photography and the subject of his workshops. He has a great eye for the unusual and a great demeanor as well. I always learn a lot when shooting with Steve.
— Terri, Bowie, MD
Steve takes a personal interest in every workshop participant. He has a thorough knowledge of where you ‘re visiting and gives you a real insight to places and subjects with facts and stories. He also helps you compose with a different perspective, not just the typical postcard view. You’ll use the skills you learn from Steve every time you lift your camera from it’s bag

Welcome to Cityscape Photo!

My name is Steve Rosenbach, and I’m a photographer, photo instructor, and photo workshop leader.

Photo Workshops

I design and lead visually engaging and entertaining photo workshops in New York City, Baltimore, Annapolis and Philadelphia. On these, I take you to the most photo-worthy sites in a given area, give you individual help with your camera, composition, or any other skill you may need, and regale you with history and legend of the places and things we visit.

As an added value, as a workshop participant, you'll be able to send me your workshop photos for evaluation and feedback. I'll make comments and suggestions, and in many cases, even do some photo editing on your photos to demonstrate how to make a good image even better.

Are you ready to join me! Click here for my upcoming photo workshops.

Join a Photo Meetup!

I organize photo Meetup.com groups in New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, each group featuring at least one free photo event each month, so be sure to take advantage of these!

Expert Photo Instruction

I also offer one-on-one and small group lessons for all skill levels and most aspects of photography, including editing in Lightroom and Photoshop. My Lightroom Quick-Start lesson will take you from zero to being a competent Lightroom user in about two hours...guaranteed! More advanced and customized sessions are also available for both Lightroom and Photoshop, and like my workshops, I offer free after-training email/phone/text support for anyone who takes a lesson from me.

I’ll be happy to come up with a plan tailored to your current skill level and where you want to go with your photography - just click the button below and fill out the short form.

The Cityscape Photo Blog

Cityscape Photo is also a showcase for my favorite kind of photography - photographs of the urban built environment, from grand structures like skyscrapers and bridges to fireplugs and tiny architectural details. The subject matter can be magnificent or mundane; it doesn’t matter as long as the image is interesting.

With a website like this, you have to start somewhere. In this case, I’ve started with my own photographs of cities not too far from where I live in central Maryland. If you sense a bias towards New York City, and Manhattan in particular, you’re right, but you will also find images taken in Washington DC, Baltimore, Annapolis, Philadelphia, Boston, and elsewhere.

As time goes on, I’ll expand the geographic diversity of the photos, not only with my own work, but also, with your help, your photos and stories. Together, we’ll be able to build a resource for our community of “cityscape photographers” as well as for those non-photographers who enjoy these kinds of images.
